Family AACPrivacy Policy
This policy explains how the Family AAC application (the “app”), available for iPad, iPhone, Android and the web, handles information. The app is provided by Daertech (“we”). Contact: support@daertec.com.
Summary
- We do not collect personal data. We have no servers that receive information from the app.
- No sign-up, accounts, ads, analytics, tracking or in-app purchases.
- Everything your family creates (profiles, messages, photos, recordings, statistics) is stored only on your device.
- This website uses no cookies and no tracking.
- The only internet connections happen in optional features, inside the PIN-protected parent area, and only when you use them.
1. Information stored on your device
To work, the app stores in the device’s local storage (an internal database):
- Profiles: the name or nickname you enter for each child and their preferences (language, voice, grid size, colors).
- Vocabulary and pages, including your changes.
- Photos you choose to use as pictures and family voice recordings.
- Local usage statistics (for example, which buttons are used most) so parents can see progress. They are off by default and can be deleted at any time.
- The parent PIN, stored only as an irreversible hash, never in readable form.
We have no access to this information. It is not sent to us or to third parties.
2. Optional features that use the internet
The app works fully offline. Only these features, which you must deliberately use from the parent area, connect to external services:

We never send names, photos, recordings or messages to these services.
3. Backups
If you create a backup, the app generates a file on your device and you decide where to save or share it (for example Files, iCloud Drive or Google Drive) using the system’s options. The file does not include the PIN or external service keys. We do not receive these backups.
4. Device permissions
- Microphone: only when parents record words in a family voice.
- Camera and photos: only when parents pick or take a photo to use as a picture.
- Internet: only for the optional features above.
We do not request location, contacts or advertising identifiers.
5. Children
The app is designed to be used by children under the supervision of their parents or guardians. We do not collect personal information from children, show ads or include purchase links. Settings, internet features and external links are behind a parent PIN. We follow the principles of COPPA (US), GDPR (EU) and Apple’s and Google’s family policies.
6. How to delete your information
Because everything is on your device, you are in control: delete a profile in Admin › Profiles, delete statistics in Admin › Statistics, or remove everything by uninstalling the app. There are no accounts to close and no data on our servers.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example GDPR in Europe or CCPA in California) you have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data. Since we hold none of your data, these rights are exercised directly on your device as explained above. If you have questions, contact us.
8. Security
Information is stored in the app’s private area on your device. We recommend protecting the device with a passcode or biometrics and not sharing the parent PIN with children.
9. This website and cookies
The familyaac.com website does not use cookies or similar technologies (local storage, pixels or browser fingerprinting). It has no analytics, ads, social media buttons, or third-party fonts, videos or maps: everything loads from our own domain and there are no forms.
Like any website, the hosting server may temporarily log technical data for each visit (IP address, date, requested page and browser type) to operate and protect itself against attacks. We do not use these logs to identify you or build profiles. If the site ever starts using cookies, we will say so here and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page with its date. If a new feature ever needed to handle data differently, we would tell you in the app before you use it.
